John Wick exploded out of nowhere. This film was announced in September, 2014 for release just a few weeks later. And thanks to the star power of Keanu Reeves, a strong trailer, and a high concept, the lack of promotion didn’t matter–it quadrupled its modest budget.  Now, just over two years later, Wick is back in theaters for Chapter 2.
